Adult Stacks Area

In the Adult Room are 4 double-sided rows of bookcases which hold our Adult Fiction and Non-Fiction collections. Book RacksNew books are placed on shelves near the entrance to this area. Mysteries are shelved seperately, on bookcases around the outside walls on the north side of this room.

In the south side aisle, after the end of the Biographies, are shelved some special collections. First is our collection of Large Print books. These contain both titles owned by our library, and a rotating collection of titles obtained from the Special Services Unit of the Vermont Department of Libraries. If you have trouble reading small print, try these! We also have forms so you can sign up to have LP books or special audio tapes delivered free to your home address. And, if you or someone you know is house-bound for an extended period of time, we would be happy to make arrangements for books or other library materials to be delivered to your home.

The last section of the aisle features the rotating collection of Adult Fiction and Non-Fiction titles which have been borrowed from one of the DOL's Regional Libraries for three months use.

In the corner are shelved Audio and Video tapes. The Audio tapes section features a rotating collection of unabridged books-on-tape which are provided through our membership in the Libraries of the Upper Valley (LUV) Coop. The selection of LUV tapes is changed in January, May, and September.

Our 2 bay windows facing Route 5 provide us with another nice spot to feature special displays, so keep an eye out for new reading ideas.

Our Library staff at work! One of the services we provide is "Reader's Advisory". We will do our best to help and find an author or subject compatible with your reading interests. We also will obtain books and other materials for you through Inter-Library Loan (ILL) service if we don't own what you are looking for. There is no fee for this service, however donations are welcome to help cover postage costs.

Reference questions of all types are welcomed and answered to the best of our ability and content of our collection. ILLs may be used for this purpose as well.
