First of all--Be Careful!

• Evaluation Criteria - The Web is a wonderful source of information, but it is often a source of misinformation as well, and nowhere is this more the case than in genealogy sites.. Learn to evaluate the reliability of web sites at this one, provided by the New Mexico State University library.

• Ancestry World Tree - The Ancestry World Tree contains more than 200 million names in family trees submitted by our users. The Ancestry World Tree is the largest collection of its kind on the Internet.

Provides the following information about features (where available): name, type, elevation, 1994 population, state and county, latitude and longitue, list of USGS topo maps on which the feature appears, and other names the feature may be known by.

• How Far Is It? - http://www.indo.com/distance This service uses data from the US Census and a supplementary list of cities around the world to find the latitude and longitude of two places, and then calculates the distance between them (as the crow flies).
