Vermont Department of Libraries Catalog - Use this site to do online searches of academic, public, and regional libraries statewide.
*While the Fairlee Public Library does not currently have an online catalog, there is a way to determine if we probably own a particular title: Hint: Print these instructions for use as you move to another page.
Click on the above link for the Vermont Department of Libraries Catalog.
Click on one of the 3 buttons at the bottom of the page that appears next. (The library usually visits Midstate for collections of state books for our patrons.)
Click on Multiple Library Search at the top of the page that appears next.
Click in the check box for Public Libraries. You can "Click Off" the Department of Libraries selection, but it will reappear every time you return to this page for a new search. Type your title or other search in the appropriate box and click on Title or other search method. When the search ends, click on the Public Libraries link if it appears.
Look for the Fairlee Public Library's symbol (VSR9) to appear under the Library Holdings list for each entry. If we own the title, you can copy the information and then email it to us so we can reserve the book for you.
*Any item that you would like that our library does not own, we can do an Inter-Library Loan to request it from another library. If an item is not available in Vermont, we can receive items from out-of-state libraries. Please note that out-of-state loans do take longer to receive. To request an Inter-Library Loan, please include your name and phone # and as much information as possible about the requested title. (Ex. Author, Title, Publisher, Date of publication) If you have a deadline, please let us know that as well.Vermont Online Library - (Requires password--see below) The Vermont Online Library is a collection of online databases that is available statewide for patrons of Vermont libraries. Brought to you in part by the Vermont Department of Libraries, this Gale Group suite of databases is a one-stop source for news and periodical articles on a wide-range of topics: business, current events, economics, education, health care, literature, art, and science. These databases include ones suitable for all ages from young children through adult.
Use VOL to search for magazine articles and other information, including many full-text magazine/journal articles and reference materials. VOL may be used in the library, or by library patrons at home with a password obtained from your local Vermont library.
Call 802-333-4716, e-mail us, or visit the Fairlee Public Library during regular business hours to receive the password and other information for using this database.
